Overview

How many students are admitted and how often?

A cohort of 25-30 students is admitted each Fall and Spring semester. Our Fall semester is almost entirely online.

What requirements need to be met before applying?

You need to complete the 7 pre-requisites for Health Leadership and Administration (HLA) concentration or 8 pre-requisites for Health Informatics and Data Analytics (HIDA) concentration, at least 60-semester​​​​​​​ units of baccalaureate-level transferable college credit, at least half of the University’s General Education breadth requirements, including college-level Oral Communication, English composition, statistics, and critical thinking, with a grade of C- or better and have an overall grade point average of 2.00 or better.​​ 

How do I apply?

​​​Complete and submit a ​​pre-admission form​​ with unofficial transcripts. Once you receive confirmation that you meet all program entry requirements from the Program Director,​​​ you may proceed with applying online via Cal State Apply. To complete the process, you will need to submit official transcripts from each college attended and pay a $70 Application Fee.​​ ​

Am I part of Stanislaus State?

As a student in the Health Science program, you are admitted to the Stanislaus State system and must adhere to all university and program policies. Once course work is completed you are eligible to graduate with your Bachelor of Science in Health Science. Commencement occurs every Spring. We encourage all of our students to participate in the graduation commencement.

How and where are courses delivered?

​​​Spring ​​​a​​​​​​​dmission is ​​​h​​​​​​​ybrid at the Stockton Campus with ​​​face-to-face​​​​ and ​​​h​​​​ybrid courses meeting two evenings per week from 5-10 pm.​​ 

​​​Fall ​​​a​​​​​​​dmission ​​​is​​​​​​​ synchronously at the Turlock Campus and asynchronously online,​​​ meeting two evenings per week from 5-10 pm.​​ 

What does this degree prepare me for?

The Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree completion program is designed to prepare graduates to take their place in the health workforce in a variety of healthcare settings and/or to pursue graduate work in public health, health psychology, social work, nursing, Physician Assistant, health administration, etc.
