 Prerequisites (completed within 60 days of admission): 

Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child and Adolescent Development, Human Development, Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood Studies, Human Development and Family Science, Family Science, or Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies. 

OR 

Any bachelor’s degree and completion of 24 semester units or the equivalent quarter units of non-remedial, degree-applicable coursework at a regionally accredited institution of higher education in early childhood education and/or child development. 

Semester 1 (18 units):

CDEV 4180 Developmental Curriculum, Experiences and Methods (or equivalent; 3 units) 

ECEC 4101 Science of Learning (3 units) 

ECES 4102: Teaching for Social Justice (3 units) 

ECEC 4104 STEM Education for Early Learners (4 units) 

ECEC 4105 Literacy Education for Early Learners (5 units) 

Winter or Summer Term (5 units):

LIBS 4170 Technology for Teachers (2 units) 

ECEC 4103 Special Education and Assessment (3 units) 

Semester 2 (12 units):

ECEC 4206 Instructional Guidance and Classroom Learning Environment (2 units)

ECEC 4207 Professional Practices and Family Engagement (2 units) 

ECEC 4211 Student Teaching Practicum I PK-TK (4 units; 8 weeks) 

ECEC 4212 Student Teaching Practicum II K-3 (4 units; 8 weeks)
