Korea University (KU) offers a summer school program that offers an intensive academic experience designed for undergraduate students seeking to earn academic credit while engaging with globally relevant themes. Courses are delivered in a compressed summer format and emphasize applied learning, intercultural competence.

aligned with degree progress across a wide range of majors.
KU offers diverse English-taught courses in a varierty subject

The Center for Japanese Language Education at Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) welcomes students from our partner institutions to join the Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Study Program every summer and winter.
This is a three-week program designed for those who wish to improve their communication skills in the Japanese language while increasing their understanding of Japanese culture through a variety of activities. There are three different levels for Japanese language classes, Beginner, Elementary, and Intermediate, offering an interactive approach through lessons with KGU students who will support international students in classes.
The program will not only focus on language studies. We offer a variety of cultural learning opportunities – in addition to the regular language classes, students will also be able to engage with Japanese culture through participation in Japanese Culture Study classes, traditional arts, and other cultural activities, including a field trip to a historically rich place like Kyoto.

The KGU Summer School is a joint program run by Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) and selected partner institutions.
This 5-week program offers “East Asian Study” track – students can select courses that suit thier interest, allowing them to study a variety of topics related to Japan and East Asia along with KGU students.
Courses in the East Asian Study track are taught by KGU faculty member and visiting professors from partner institutions covering a wide range of topics such as politics, international relations, history, cross-cultural psychology, business, economics and more.

Academic Information
Students may take courses from different undergraduate programs and from different semesters in order to adapt and validate those courses with their home university academic coordinator.
Academic Credits
- 1 academic credit is equivalent to 16 hours of classroom and independent learning.
- Each course has an average of 6 to 10 credits, (96 and 160 academic hours)
Equivalence:
- 1 UPAEP’s credit = 1 ECTS credit
- 2 UPAEP’s credits = 1 US’s credit
Evaluation Criteria
- Most courses have three monthly exams and one final evaluation.
- Each course has an evaluation rubric, which integrates attendance, participation, assignments, projects and exams.
- Teachers will share this information on the first day of class.
- In order to approve the course, it is necessary to have a 75% attendance of the course.

Language Requirements
- In order to enroll in regular courses in Spanish with Mexican students; a Spanish B2 or at least B1 level is required.

- A previous English certification or letter from the language department is sufficient to prove the language skillls
Note: A student with 0 to 2 semesters of university-level Spanish or equivalent may only participate in the second option.
