Agriculture Professor Oluwarotimi Odeh’s Return to Nigeria as a Fulbright Scholar Impacts Students There and at Stan State
When he returned to his native country, Nigeria, for seven months as a Fulbright Scholar, Stanislaus State’s Roland Starn Endowed Chair and Director of Agriculture Oluwarotimi Odeh found the homecoming quite revealing and fulfilling.
Not only were the students in his entrepreneurship class at his alma mater, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State, amazed to hear what the United States was actually like, but his former professors, many now retired, treated him with an embarrassing level of deference.

For the 19th consecutive year, Stanislaus State has been included in The Princeton Review’s “Best 390 Colleges for 2025” college guide. This prestigious list doesn’t rank institutions, but instead highlights the nation’s top 390 schools for undergraduates. The University also is featured on the publication’s “Best West” regional list for schools it considers “academically outstanding.”

Finance publication MONEY has released its 2023 college ratings and once again named Stanislaus State among the “Best Colleges in America.”
Using a new star rating system that replaces its traditional numerical ranking, MONEY gave Stanislaus State 4.5 out of 5 stars, which places the University among the top third of the 736 four-year public and private colleges from across the nation that made the cut.
