Join Dr. Cassandra Drake for Climate Justice and Environmental Responsibility in Tijuana, a short-term study abroad experience that connects environmental responsibility, community engagement, and cross-border collaboration.

Developed in partnership with CETYS University, this week-long program runs June 21–28 and gives students the opportunity to learn with and from CETYS faculty and students at the CETYS Tijuana campus. Through shared class activities, site visits, community service, and presentations, students will explore connections among climate justice, environmental literacy, sustainability, ethics, ecology, and social conditions in the border region.

Program experiences include:

  • Friendship Park
  • Volunteer work at Parque Sauces Sur
  • A community service/art project with local migrant children at Cañón del Alacrán

Airfare and major program costs are covered. Students only need to budget for food and personal expenses. Stan State students will earn academic credit. Spanish fluency is not required, though some Spanish skills are helpful. A valid passport is required to participate.
